            <description><![CDATA[<p>Gawler Aerodrome will be having an open day on 6th March 2010 to celebrate the new field. 5DME's David Wilkie&nbsp;will be attending the&nbsp;event to bring all the latest images and information about the drome.</p>
<p>The move to the new aerodrome is&nbsp;a result adjustments required for&nbsp;the new Northern Expressway.</p>

            <title>Navy Laser Airborne Depth Sounder</title>

From 1st to 17th the Dash 8 will be here for deployment. Readers will note that this aircraft replaced the Fokker F27 late 2009. The survey gear was moved into VH-LCL and the aircraft went into service for the Navy during December 2009/January 2010.</p>

            <description><![CDATA[<p>New QANTAS Link filights begun between Adelaide and Port Lincoln on Monday 14th February 2010. The first flight&nbsp;was from Port Lincoln to Adelaide. There is scheduled 4 flights this route for Monday and 4 to Port Lincoln. This new route will use the Dash 8-400 aircraft.</p>]]></description>

            <title>100th Anniversary of the first powered flight in South Australia</title>
            <description><![CDATA[<p align="left">To celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the first powered flight in SA&nbsp;the South Australian Aviation Museum will be flying a large model of the Bleriot aircraft at the museum. The flight is in recognition of the Bill Wittber "hop" and the Fred Custance flight at Bolivar on 17th March 1910. </p>
<p align="left">The re-enactment flight will commence at the museum at 10.00 am on 14th March 2010.</p>

            <title>CFS Air Crane</title>

<p>Fokker Friendship VH-EWP departed Adelaide today at 0830. This is her last vist here for some time. After being refitted with the LADS gear from VH-LCL (Dash 8) she is on her way to Victoria.</p>

            <title>90th Anniversary Sir Keith &amp; Sir Ross Smith 1919 Air Race</title>
            <description><![CDATA[<p>The 90th Anniversary of the arrival of Sir Keith, Sir Ross Smith, Jimmy Bennett and W.H. Sheirs into Darwin on 10th of December 1919, in a Vickers Vimy WWI bomber (G-EAOU) is being commemorated with a special service to be held at the Creswell Gardens. The anniversary is on the 10th of December but the commemorative ceremony will be held on Sunday the 13th of December.</p>
<p>Martyn Smith form Adelaide Biplanes with be flying air mail on the 10th to officially recognise the event. The Air mail (Covers) will be provided by the West Beach Aviation Group (WBAG). A member of the Air Mail Society will be a passenger on the flight.</p>

            <title>MAC SA State Rescue Helicopters</title>

<form class="mt-enclosure mt-enclosure-image" mt:asset-id="94"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 0px 20px 20px; FLOAT: right" class="mt-image-right" alt="20091126_39.JPG" src="http://blogs.fcug.net/5-dme_adelaide/20091126_39.JPG" width="300" height="225" /></form>On 26th of November 2009 the MAC SA State Rescue Helicopters and associated services, police, ambulance etc. were put on display at the Torrens Parade Grounds in Adelaide. Two helicopters were present of the three, a Bell 412 and an EC130.</p>
<p>Ambulance and Paramedics put on a road accident rescue display for all to see how the services relate and operate together. This allowed a significant photo opportunity for 5DME. You can read the news on our main page and there will be a 5DME Stories page added soon. There will be links and related documents to download for your interest.</p>

            <title>VH-EWP to return to YPAD</title>
            <description><![CDATA[&nbsp;
<p>During November 2009 VH-EWP (Fokker Friendship 500) will be returning to Adelaide. After a week long visit to have the Navy LADS gear removed in September, VH-EWP is now having the survey gear from the Dash 8 installed. As you will remember, the Navy gear is going into the Dash 8 (VH-LCL).</p>
<p>5DME will keep posting news about these aircraft as it comes to hand.</p>

<p>The South Australian Aviation Museum (SAAM) will be holding a Spitfire Open Day on Sunday the 15th of November 2009.</p>
<p>The cockpit will be open for viewing and photographs. At 10.30am there will be a commentary on the items on display and the unique features of the Spitfire.</p>
<p>Sausage Sizzle - Tea, Coffee, Drinks will be available for purchase 11.30am till 1.30pm</p>
