On the 9th September 2008 a 2/3 scale Kitty Hawk was test flown at Aldinga. A local Aero Club member built the aircraft and it was piloted by an RAAF Test Pilot. Spectacular! No problems on maiden flight. Audience cheer as the aircraft lifts into the air. 5DME was there to capture images and video. See the galleries.

The Aldinga Aero Club held its 2008 Dawn Patrol on 14 September 2008. Acknowledging and remembering the Battle of Brittain. 5DME was there and we have added some new photographs to the gallery. Unfortunately we did not catch everyone but the was a special treat a Nanchang from Adelaide Warbirds. We even have some video, once edited it will be placed on the site.

7th August 2008 "Connie" the HARS restored Lockheed Super Constellation visited Adelaide for about 12 hours or so.

She arrived approximately 1630 on the 7th August and 5DME Photographers were there to capture her on video and in photographs.

We have already uploaded the photos in the "Classic Piston" section of the Photo Gallery. The video is coming soon.

Connie departed Adelaide at 1000 on the 8th August 2008.

5DME now has 9 videos on line. All are short excerpts that have been edited from when we go on photo shoots. We hope to bring your more aviation video from Adelaide and Aldinga soon.

I made a visit to Aldinga Airfield today. There was not much going on but I did manage to meet the management and discuss taking photos and video for the site. They made me feel most welcome and I managed to get some new photo stock and video.

The video has been edited and is on line in the Video Gallery. Selected photos have been added to the Piston/Classic and Light Aircraft sections.

I will be keeping tabs on Aldinga and visiting again when there is more going on.

On 14 May 2008 I put the 747-400 Push Back video on our You Tube Channel (ODLWEB) and within an hour or so we had 35 hits and two comments. One person (the first commenter) must not have watched the whole video and indicated we did not know our planes. They failed to realise they were just looking at our leader/tag. Not long after another commenter set them straight :-)

The second comment was most favourable and we would like to inform the reader/viewer to keep watching as we intend to add many more videos to the 5DME.NET selection and the ODLWEB channel on You Tube.
