90th Anniversary Sir Keith & Sir Ross Smith 1919 Air Race

The 90th Anniversary of the arrival of Sir Keith, Sir Ross Smith, Jimmy Bennett and W.H. Sheirs into Darwin on 10th of December 1919, in a Vickers Vimy WWI bomber (G-EAOU) is being commemorated with a special service to be held at the Creswell Gardens. The anniversary is on the 10th of December but the commemorative ceremony will be held on Sunday the 13th of December.

Martyn Smith form Adelaide Biplanes with be flying air mail on the 10th to officially recognise the event. The Air mail (Covers) will be provided by the West Beach Aviation Group (WBAG). A member of the Air Mail Society will be a passenger on the flight.
